Ubuntu Homepage

If you ask me, the Firefox Start homepage is pretty dull: that shade of blue on white isn't the best start to the day, so why not have something else? How about that nice purple and orange that Canonical uses so lavishly?

Your homepage doesn't have to be plain and simple

Over the weekend I designed a fun and useful homepage for Firefox, featuring Google web/image search, a clock and links to Ubuntu.com, this blog and Ubuntu Forums. There'll be updates to come over the next few weeks so you can customize it to how you want.

Chrome download: Coming soon

This homepage should also work on Firefox, but I haven't tested it.

When you download the file, extract it and place the contents somewhere where you won't move them.

Instructions for Firefox:
1. Open the page in the browser.
2. Click on the icon to the left of the web address, drag it to the Home button and then let go.

Instructions for Chrome:
1. Open the page in the browser.
2. Hi-light the address and press Ctrl-C to copy.
3. Go to the Toolbar >  Preferences
4. Under Homepage, paste in the address of the page with Ctrl-V
